In 1972 Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos Puerto Rican High School (P.A.C.H.S.) was founded. The purpose of the school was to teach pride in Puerto Rican History and Culture. The school offers a full course load leading to a high school diploma and successful college articulation. Pedro Albizu Campos High School is a participating member in the following educational programs: Alternative Schools Network of Chicago; The Youth Connection Charter Schools; and Youth Skills Development and Training Program. P.A.C.H.S. is registered with the State Board Of Education and is accredited through the National Association For the Legal Support of Alternative Schools, NALSAS.
Philosophy
Here at P.A.C.H.S our major goal is to work with students to focus on their education. Students are encouraged to think critically about their learning experiences and to participate actively in their communities.
Our curriculum is divided into 3 areas: The first area involves the development of cognitive skills in the areas of Natural and Social Science, Mathematics, Communications, and the Arts. Accelerated students are offered college dual enrollment through Malcolm X College.
The second area focuses on the development of self-identity and self-worth by analyzing the Puerto Rican and Latino reality. Puerto Rican History projects related to the community are organized through the all-school class called Unity.
The third area is designed to provide students with hands-on experience. Classes included are video, bomba y plena, typing, dance, guitar and journalism.

• Students under 16 must pay $ 2,000.00 tuition;
• Partial and full scholarships are available to students 16 and older.
